It is mainly used in applications such as night vision systems, medical diagnostic equipment, communication systems and industrial process controllers. The main purpose of a latch is to store the state of an input signal so that it can be accessed later, this is achieved through the use of a circuit which changes its state (measuring the voltage levels of its input) in response to external input signals. The SN74ALVTH16373VR is unique in that it is able to process two data pulses at once, due to having two sets of inputs and two sets of outputs.
