Working Principle

The SN74F2373DW is a transparent D-Type flip-flop. It takes data present on the eight data inputs (D0-D7) and stores this data in the eight output latches (Q0-Q7). Data can be stored indefinitely in the latch as long as both enable inputs (LE and DE) are at logic high (1) level. When LE is logic low (0), the data present at the data inputs is stored in the output latches. When DE is a logic low (0) the output latch is open and the data stored in the output latch is available at the output.

The SN74F2373DW is a dual-enable type device, meaning that both the LE and DE inputs must be at logic high (1) level to store data in the output latches. This allows the latch to be enabled while simultaneously blocking any data from entering the latch.

The SN74F2373DW can operate in either asynchronous or synchronous mode. In asynchronous mode, the LE input is used to latch and store data in the output latches. In synchronous mode, the DE input takes precedence and is used to store data in the output latches. In both modes, the data present on the data inputs is available at the output latches as soon as the enable inputs are at logic high (1) level.
