SN74HC139QPWRG4Q1 is a logic chip which falls into the category of Logic – Signal Switches, Multiplexers and Decoders. It is an integrated circuit which contains two two-to-four line decoders, each with an active low output, plus a dual four-to-one line multiplexer with active high outputs. The two active-low decoders are directed by two input decimal codes,A and B, and each decode is designed for use in a wide variety of memory and data applications. The four lines of data entering the multiplexer are directed by the A and B codes, together with the J and K multiplexer control inputs. When either control input is high, the four data lines are connected to its one corresponding output, according to the combination of A and Bon the low state. That is, one of the four outputs will be enabled Low and the others disabled High, as determined by the A, B, J and K inputs.

The working principle of SN74HC139QPWRG4Q1 is based on the usage of two input binary codes, A and B, and four output lines to independently control all of the multiplexer and decoder functions. The two binary codes, A and B, are the primary inputs and are multiplexed with the four outputs. The first two outputs are the decoders labeled O1 and O2. Depending on the combination of A and B, the first two outputs can be used to apply logic operations to any of the four outputs.
