The SN74LS93N logic chip is particularly suitable for use in binary counting applications, as well as for producing a controlled clock divider. It is a 4-bit counter/divider with carry lookahead architecture, making it relatively simple to use. The SN74LS93N chip is made up of four flip-flops, each of which can store a binary voltage, continuously changing according to the applied input waveforms. As the clock signal is driven in, the output divider frequency is also driven in. The frequency can be increased or decreased as desired.
