Working Principle:
The SN74LV373APW is an edge-triggered flip-flop that stores data bits when the properly strobed input is applied to the data (D) input and the clock (CK) input is at logic high. Once data is stored, it remains in the register until a low-to-high transition of the clock or a logic-high input on the clear (CLR) input occurs. The output changes state on the clock’s active edge depending on the level of the D input.
The device also has an active-high 3-state output which can be enabled or disabled with the output-enable (OE) input. When the OE input is at logic low, the outputs are in a high-impedance state and will not drive external circuits. This feature allows MCUs to interface multiple 3-state bus devices to the same bus.
The SN74LV373APW is composed of six positive-edge triggered D-type flip-flops which have separate data (D) and clock (CK) inputs and complementary outputs (Q and Q\'). An asynchronous active-low clear input (CLR) is provided for each flip-flop, which sets all outputs to a low logic level.
