SN75154D is an RS422 and RS485 transceiver, and is mainly applied in digital systems, including loopback applications, local teleprocessor links, digital datasheets and testing systems. SN75154D is also suitable for all types of digital networks, including some which require both transmission and reception of data.SN75154D provides electrical isolation between two digital lines and allows communication at 232 data rates, up to 10 Mbps, between two isolated systems. The SN75154D interface allows the two-line system to be connected to the digital device with asynchronous data transmission. The isolated system eliminates the need to use other external components and the associated power supply connections.

Working Principle

The SN75154D is built using an on-chip common-mode feedback circuit that monitors the drive and receive logic line levels at the outputs. By doing this, the SN75154D is able to detect differences between the independent line and output logic levels.
