SOMXOMAP3630-10-1980AFCR-A is an embedded evaluation board which features a Texas Instruments Sitara AM335x Cortex-A8 processor. It is intended primarily for prototyping, learning, training and developing embedded industrial applications. It is an ideal platform for Quickstart, as it can be used with minimal setup and ensures maximum flexibility. The SOMXOMAP3630-10-1980AFCR-A is also suitable for development of gateway and industry automation applications.
The SOMXOMAP3630-10-1980AFCR-A evaluation board contains two integrated Sitara AM335x Cortex-A8 ARM processors, one of which is optimized for low-power applications, and the other for high-performance operations. It provides up to 1GB of (DDR3L) on-board memory, integrated GPU, and 32bit LCD and camera interfaces. Its integrated devices include a 10/100/1000 Ethernet controller, dual CAN controllers, RTC, 10-bit ADC, dual UARTs, 16-bit GPIOs, SPI, I2C, EMIF and WiFi/Bluetooth module. In addition, the board has multiple expansion headers for expansion of third-party modules, such as FPGA, GSM, Ethernet or GPS modules.
The SOMXOMAP3630-10-1980AFCR-A evaluation board runs on an operating system such as Linux, Android, FreeRTOS, VxWorks and Wind River Linux. It is powered by a 5V, 3.3V or 5.9V power supply, and features a wide range of programming tools, such as Code Composer Studio, IAR Workbench, Embedded Coder and CodeWarrior from MathWorks. Furthermore, the board has an integrated FPGA development board, which can be used for advanced prototyping of complex and connected systems.
