SP232ECT-L/TR Integrated Circuits (ICs)

The SP232ECT-L/TR is a two channel low power full-duplex communication line driver which is used to transmit asynchronous serial communication data. It is most commonly used in applications such as Industrial Automation, Automotive, Industrial Control and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).

The SP232ECT-L/TR is a dual-channel full-duplex transceiver with a low magnetic field emission. It integrates two enhanced Slew-Rate-Limited Transistor Output (SRLTO) drivers and two High-Impedance CMOS receivers. The SP232ECT-L/TR can drive 2kV load with 10mA load current and can withstand an EMI of up to 3.2V/m. The device is designed to drive communication interface lines up to tens of meters without the need of a transformer or a level translator. The SP232ECT-L/TR also has a power down/up mode of operation and on/off switching time that can be programmed.

The SP232ECT-L/TR transceiver is designed to ensure reliable and safe electrical data transmission at data rates of up to 5200Kb/s. It features superior ESD protection, low power consumption, 3 power supply options and integrated loop back mode. It has a low supply current of 25mA at 3.3V and has a low Enable-Disable voltage threshold of 0.4V.

The working principle of SP232ECT-L/TR is based on the fact that it has two integrated Slew-Rate-Limited Transistor Output (SRLTO) drivers and two High-Impedance CMOS receivers. It works by converting an electrical signal from one form to another, in order to transport digital or analogue data between two nodes and keeps the data safe and secure. The SRLTO drivers and the CMOS receivers are the main components that enable the transceiver to send and receive data accurately and with low electromagnetic interference between the two nodes. The CMOS receiver monitors the incoming signal and converts it into an electrical signal. The SRLTO drivers take the electrical signal generated by the CMOS receivers and convert it back into an intelligent signal for transfer to the target node.

The SP232ECT-L/TR makes it possible to transfer data from different types of digital and analogue interfaces such as serial, RS-232 and even USB as well as Ethernet and other standard communications interfaces. It is also designed to support a wide range of baud rates, ensuring that users can select the right baud rate for their application requirements. The SP232ECT-L/TR is also designed to support industry standard signalling protocols, such as I2C, RS-485, and UART.
