The SP7655ER-L is a DC-DC switching regulator from STMicroelectronics and is a member of the STSwitches series. DC-DC switching regulators are a type of voltage regulating device, known as power management ICs (PMICs), which convert an input DC voltage to an output DC voltage by controlling the power drawn from the power supply.

Power MOSFETs are used internally to drive the output, while a low dropout voltage regulator and a voltage reference circuit is used to generate the control voltages. Moreover, a feedback loop is used to ensure that the output voltage remains at its desired value.
