ST72F561J4T6 Application Field and Working Principle

The ST72F561J4T6 (ST7F) is an 8-bit, CMOS microcontroller based on microsparc architecture. It is manufactured by STMicroelectronics and belongs to the STM32 family. The ST7F provides a complete suite of peripherals but very little non-volatile memory.ST7F\'s main application field is embedded systems such as consumer electronics, office equipment and industrial automation applications. It also excels in automotive safety and security applications.The ST7F can operate within the speed range of 12Mips (at 1.2V supply voltage) up to 25Mips (at 3.3V supply voltage). It consumes very low power (2mA/9µA typical). It supports 1.8V-3.6V supply voltage, 8Kb program Flash memory, 128 bytes RAM and 8/16-bit timer/counter/watchdog for real-time application. The ST7F also has multiple communication interfaces such as I2C, UART, SPI, LIN and USB. It contains 31 general purpose I/O ports with 47 interrupt sources. This enables a broad range of communication options such as Ethernet, CAN, GPIO and power management. All mentioned interfaces/peripherals together ensure an optimal platform for user applications.The core of the ST7F is based on the Mc SPARC architecture. The Mc SPARC architecture features a 16-bit instruction set that is optimized for speed and energy efficiency. The core also contains two 16-bit general purpose registers (R1, R2) which enable the ST7F to process data more quickly and accurately.The ST7F also provides several sophisticated control methods such as 8-bit/16-bit PWM generation with selectable source clock. This makes the ST7F more suitable for automotive applications with motor control and chassis control requirements. In addition, the ST7F is capable of sensing temperature, humidity and current and operating temperature range of -40℃ to 85℃ which makes it ideal for use in tough environments. The most important feature of the ST7F is that it allows the user to add extensions like specific hardware components or software improvements and reconfigure the existing application. The extensions can be implemented in several development environments like high level language compilers and software debuggers. Finally, the ST7F contains several incredible features like power management, data visualisation, Zigbee/BLE support, Analog-to-digital converter and hardware demos. The flexibility of the hardware and software configuration of the ST7F makes it suitable for a wide range of applications.
