STEVAL-IPE003V1 application field and working principle
Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits is a type of evaluation boards and kits that provide a cost effective and easy way for customers to evaluate and demonstrate applications with STMicroelectronics products. The STEVAL-IPE003V1 is one such evaluation kit which is designed to evaluate the features of STMicroelectronics’s Interchangeable PowerPath Controllers. These controllers are designed to optimise the power delivery and which are potential suitable for providing continuity in the power system in case of a system/battery failure.The main feature of the STEVAL-IPE003V1 is its adaptability. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, such as telecommunication systems, automotive applications, portable medical systems and industrial monitoring. Its portability and scalability makes it attractive for a variety of applications that need to incorporate and evaluate different power control management strategies.The STEVAL-IPE003V1 evaluation board is designed to easily connect to STMicroelectronics’s Interchangeable PowerPath Controllers. It is equipped with five connectors which are used to connect to different external power sources, which can vary depending on the application. These external power sources can be batteries, supercapacitors or any other traditional energy source. Furthermore, it contains two dedicated PWM output connectors which are used to control the output power. The STEVAL-IPE003V1 evaluation board is also equipped with an LCD display which is used to display the current status of the system. This includes information, such as input power, output voltage, current consumption and energy storage. Furthermore, it also provides intuitive graphical menus which help the user to quickly and easily modify the system settings.The STEVAL-IPE003V1 evaluation board also provides three different power path control methods. The first is a single power path configuration which uses a single power source and one dedicated control line. The second is a two-power path configuration which uses two power sources and two dedicated control lines. Finally, the third option is the dual-loop configuration which uses two power sources and four dedicated control lines.The STEVAL-IPE003V1 evaluation board is also equipped with advanced monitoring features such as output voltage and current feedback, temperature sensing, and clock synchronization. This allows users to easily monitor the system and adjust it to their specific requirements.In addition, the STEVAL-IPE003V1 evaluation board also provides several safety and protection features, such as overvoltage and overcurrent protection, peak current limiting, reverse voltage protection, soft start and load dump protection.Finally, the STEVAL-IPE003V1 evaluation board is also equipped with several configurable hardware features, such as a configurable voltage reference, adjustable power supply sequencer, adjustable sample and hold circuit, and configurable output power track.
