STEVAL-MKI135V1 application field and working principle

The STEVAL-MKI135V1 is a multi-sensors platform that combines three key elements a STM32 microcontroller, a circuit board with several sensors, and a dedicated control panel.
The board provides an efficient means to experiment and evaluate STMicroelectronics\' 6-axis inertial module, the LSM6DSL, along with its integrated temperature sensors. The LSM6LSL offers a dynamic range of ±2 g/ ±4 g/ ±8 g/ ±16 g, a full scale of ±249 dps and an embedded ultra-low-power floating point digital signal processor (DSP) for enhanced sensor performance. The optical module of the STEVAL-MKI135V1, also from STMicroelectronics (VLM5030), provides independent tracking of the device\'s position and its insertion into a hall-effect sensor. It also allows users to identify and simulate specific events without having to rely on any external power source.
Thanks to the LSM6LSL, the STEVAL-MKI135V1 can support the acquisition of linear acceleration and angular speed from the three-axis LSM6LSL inertial unit with an embedded temperature sensor. With its 6-axis inertial module, the evaluation board allows users to test 3-axis acceleration and 3-axis angular rate sensors within one single platform. Furthermore, the STEVAL-MKI135V1 is equipped with the STM32F303CCT6 microcontroller, which benefits from the STM32F303/C8 ARM Cortex-M4 core processor with DSP capabilities. This microcontroller features four 32-bit timers, three 12-bit ADCs, two 12-bit DACs, four digital ultralow-power CAN buses, and two I2C communication interfaces.
The STEVAL-MKI135V1 can be connected to a PC, or to a dedicated adapter such as the STEVAL-MKI139V2, in order to allow users to work with advanced development tools. This way, users are able to take full advantage of easy-to-use features such as live signal monitoring, multisensor data acquisition and 3D navigation. The board is also compatible with a wide range of third-party software tools, meaning that software designers can easily customize and add new functions or develop their own dedicated set of tools. In addition, the board enables users to download and store data to a PC, allowing them to analyze a wide range of useful data regarding the system\'s performance.
