Working Principles

The STEVAL-ISA126V1 is based on the STM32F030R8 family of microcontrollers. It runs the firmware developed for the STM8S003x and STM8S006x families as well as various third-party open-source applications which can be downloaded, customised and used for the development of the system.

The STEVAL-ISA126V1 evaluation board provides a complete system with integrated power management including low power, external supply, digital supervisor, programmable logic and high-power off-line SMPS. The board can also be used for other applications such as motor control and automation.

The main operating principle of the board is to control the switching frequency, voltage and current of the off-line SMPS by controlling the duty cycle of the MOSFET switch in order to provide a desired output from the power stage.
