The STEVAL-ISA142V1 is a highly efficient, low cost application evaluation board module for devices such as dc/dc and ac/dc (off-line) switchers providing up to 5A output current with a maximum output voltage of about 150V. It is extremely compact, measuring only 150x50x5mm. The board uses a single Vin input voltage range between 8 and 14V. The STEVAL-ISA142V1 provides information regarding both device characteristic analysis and performance monitoring without having to build a complete switching power supply system. It features a dedicated low cost 68-LD/SO IC with two molded coils and necessary components to optimize, control and protect the device.

The STEVAL-ISA142V1 is ideal for use in applications such as dc/dc converter systems, switched-mode power supplies (SMPS), voltage regulator modules (VRM), internet of things (IoT), LED drivers, automotive displays and many more. This device provides low cost operation with high efficiency (<93%) with short on-time, low operating power (as low as 1.5 W) and low standby power consumption (<1 W). The ENABLE pin of the TOPSwitch-GX device is used to switch ON/OFF the device. The 80 kHz switching frequency of the device helps to keep output ripple voltage low and the board is capable of delivering maximum currents up to 5A without getting output voltage ripple. It also has a wide operating range and can work with input voltages ranging from 8V to 14V. The board also provides over-voltage, over-current, and overtemperature protection.
