The STEVAL-TSP001V1 is a type of evaluation board for DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS (switched mode power supply) applications. This evaluation board is specifically designed to evaluate the topologies built by using three of STMicroelectronic’s application specific circuit designs. These are namely the STEVAL-TSP001V1 Voltage Inverter controller, the STEVAL-TSP001V1 Step-Down Regulator and the STEVAL-TSP001V1 Dual Regulator.

The STEVAL-TSP001V1 evaluation board has an advanced feature set which allows for the configuration of different topologies. It includes an advanced power supply controller, an active PFC (power factor correction), a dynamic response circuit, a range of pre-determined outputs, a range of output current regulation circuits, adjustable timing circuit, a range of adjustable delay and slew rate adjustment circuits, a range of automatic inhibit and restart features as well as a range of protection circuits.

The STEVAL-TSP001V1 evaluation board is ideal for evaluation of the different STMicroelectronic’s application specific IC’s. It can be used to evaluate the regulated and inverter topologies as well as multiple standard output configurations. The evaluation board can be used to quickly evaluate different operating conditions and allow for quick failure analysis of circuits and devices.

At the heart of the STEVAL-TSP001V1 evaluation board is the STEVAL-TSP001V1 Voltage Inverter Controller. This device is a high performance integrated circuit that provides voltage regulation as well as current regulation and load balancing control functions. It allows for wide range of current control and variable power output. It also provides configurable protection features such as overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent and thermal protection. In addition, this device provides the capability for main output voltage and frequency control.

The STEVAL-TSP001V1 Step-Down Regulator provides a highly efficient and cost effective solution for power conversion. This device is able to step down a nominal input voltage to a desired output voltage within a selected range. It is capable of supporting wide range of output load current and provides excellent load regulation, current limit protection and other safety features.

The STEVAL-TSP001V1 Dual Regulator is a high performance step down regulator. It has the ability to provide accurate regulation of two separate supply voltages. It has a wide adjustable range of output voltages and supports the full AC input voltage range. It is able to provide fast switching frequency and can handle heavy load current quickly with minimum loss.

The STEVAL-TSP001V1 evaluation board is a versatile tool for evaluating different types of power supply topologies.
