Introduction
STLDC08PUR is a power management integrated chip (PMIC) specifically developed for LED driver applications. It is designed specifically to optimize LED performance in terms of current consumption and power efficiency. The LED driver is capable of driving up to eight output channels generated from three logic level high side outputs and five logic level low side outputs. The chip is based on the TO-SOT25P package and includes a wide range of features that help to ensure efficient operation and reliability.Working Principle
The working principle of STLDCPUR is based on the use of two separate voltage rails, one highside (VH) and one lowside (VL). When the user enters the desired output channel, the selected channel\'s (CH) gate will be opened, triggering an internal FET driver to generate a voltage between VH and CH with a threshold near the VH rail. This voltage is then used to dictate the state of the output channel, either ON (output voltage near VH rail) or OFF (output voltage near VL rail).At the same time, the low side FET driver will be triggered to generate a voltage between VL and CH. This voltage is then used to pull the output voltage of the channel back to the VL rail. The logic used to control the output is capable of handling a wide range of output voltages and is easily adjustable to any desired level.The STLDC08PUR is also capable of providing protection against overcurrent and overvoltage conditions. The chip is capable of monitoring up to 8 channels of output and it can quickly react to overcurrent and overvoltage conditions. In the event of an overcurrent/overvoltage condition, the device will enter a fault condition and start to reduce the current.Applications
The STLDC08PUR can be used in a variety of LED driver applications. The device is ideal for switching LED’s from low voltage to high voltage and providing protection against overcurrent and overvoltage conditions.The device is suitable for residential, commercial, industrial and automotive applications.
