Application Field

The STM8S105K6U6ATR is a versatile, low power, 8-bit microcontroller with integrated peripherals and memory specifically designed for embedded control and communication applications. It supports numerous applications such as electronic energy metering, air conditioning, motor control, industrial automation, clock and timing, and automotive systems. It has two 8x8 and one 16x16 banks for the whole memory dedicated to code and data memory that allows the user to configure the application with a variety of options to suit their needs.

Working Principle

The STM8S105K6U6ATR uses a high performance 8-bit RISC CPU core, instruction decoders, and associated logic to execute instructions and access memory. All instructions are single-cycle except the multiply instructions, which require two cycles.

The on-chip memories include up to 64Kbytes of Flash program memory, 1Kbyte data EEPROM, and 2Kbytes of data RAM. The instructions set for STM8S105K6U6ATR was also designed to improve code density, and with the 8-bit instruction width, size of the code can be significantly reduced.
