Working Principle of STPS1H100AF

The STPS1H100AF diode works on the principles of rectifier action. The STPS1H100AF is a two terminal semiconductor device which has two electrodes, an anode and a cathode. In the forward bias condition, when sufficient voltage is applied across the device such that the anode is connected to the positive and the cathode to the negative potential, electrons are able to move from the anode to the cathode and form a current path. Meanwhile, in the reverse bias condition, majority carriers, in this case holes, are induced to move from the cathode to the anode, and no current flows.
