STR3A155D is a low‐voltage, high‐performance current‐mode pulse width modulation (PWM) switcher. It is widely used in offline switcher applications, such as personal computers, telecom adapters, LCD displays, and other power converter applications. In particular, it is well-suited for applications having limited thermal solutions or width noise immunity issues.

The STR3A155D provides a wide range of operating modes, including current‐mode up to 55kHz and 100kHz for high‐frequency applications. It has adjustable frequency and phase shift, adjustable pulse peak current, and adjustable PWM ripple factor, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of offline switcher designs. Its adjustable dead time control enables excellent crossover distortion, while providing precise control of device turn‐on/off times and peak−to−peak ripple.

STR3A155D\'s working principle is based on the principle of pulse width modulation (PWM). The device includes to protect against over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-temperature conditions, which can be set independently for the primary and secondary outputs. The device also features several package options, with active−low Enable/Reset, Anti−Fuse, and low current standby modes.

The STR3A155D\'s Thermal Shutdown and Over Voltage Shutdown protect the device against thermal events and overvoltage conditions, respectively. Thermal Shutdown protects the device against high temperature conditions while Over Voltage Shutdown helps to prevent damage to the device and the system due to excessive voltage input.
