STX13004 is a silicon NPN epitaxial planar bipolar transistor designed to meet the requirements of audio amplifiers, video and other related circuitry, designed with a full range of devices from low to medium power applications. It is a single transistor type and commonly used in Power Management products.

The device features a low voltage gain, wide dynamic range and fast recovery time, meaning it can be used for a variety of applications including low and medium power audio amplifiers and video amplifiers. In addition, it has the ability to be used in switching applications due to its fast switching characteristics.

The STX13004 is a three-terminal bipolar transistor, constructed using a proprietary structure that allows a low collector-emitter saturation voltage and a low noise figure. The transistor also has a low turn-on and turn-off time with a good utility factor (UF).

Working Principle:

When a base current is injected, electrons are attracted to the base and holes are repelled away from the base. The electrons and holes that coalesce at the base area of the transistor are the recombination current. The recombination current flow generates a minority carrier at the base junction of the transistor. The minority carrier then redistributes itself along the collector, base and emitter of the transistor producing a voltage between the collector and emitter.

As the collector-base voltage increases, the electrons and holes flow into the collector and emitter region of the transistor. This further increases the level of current flowing through the collector and emitter, creating a larger voltage between the two regions. This increase in the base-collector voltage further enhances the current gain of the transistor.

In summary, the STX13004 is an NPN bipolar transistor with a low collector-emitter saturation voltage and a fast recovery time. It is commonly used in audio amplifiers, video amplifiers and switching applications due to its low voltage gain, wide dynamic range and fast turn-on and turn-off time.
