The T810-600G-TR is a Triode AC Switch (TRIAC) belonging to the family of thyristors. A TRIAC is basically a pair of silicon controlled switches connected back to back and activated by a single gate input. It is used in circuits that require AC control and can be used to control phase angle and power across an AC load. The T810-600G-TR can switch from on-off and zero-crossing, thanks to its bidirectional current flow capability. When used as an on-off switching element, the gate current can be reversed to trigger both thyristor arms. Similarly, the TRIAC can switch from off-on or zero-crossing trigger for controlling AC power. This feature is useful for controlling appliances and other equipment such as compressors and electric locomotives. The T810-600G-TR also has a very low turn-off current and a high hold-off voltage.
