Tantalum capacitors are a type of capacitor that uses the metal tantalum as the anode, instead of aluminium, as traditional capacitors do. Tantalum capacitors are able to operate in temperatures ranging from -55°C to 85°C. However, higher temperatures decrease the capacitance, increasing the resistance and the ESR.To get the most out of tantalum capacitors, it is important to consider their operating range, temperature rating, voltage rating, electrolyte material, and the capacitance.
