The TACR335M010R is a surface mount capacitor with an industry standard lead spacing of 2.54 millimeters. It is rated for a capacitance of 100 micro Farad (µF), and for an operating voltage of 10 volts, with an ESR (equivalent series resistance) no greater than 33 milliohm. This makes it ideal for use in high-frequency and/or high-power applications such as RF communications, switching power supplies, and MCU (microcontroller unit) designs.The working principle of a tantalum capacitor is similar to that of a conventional electrolytic capacitor. It consists of two electrodes made up of a tantalum oxide film which acts as the dielectric layer. One electrode is an anode (positive electrode) and the other is a cathode (negative electrode). The anode is made of a sintered tantalum powder, while the cathode is either a solid conductive material or a special type of tantalum powder. When a voltage source is applied across the capacitor, an electric field is generated. This results in the accumulation of electrons in the anode and the depletion of electrons in the cathode, thus creating a net charge across the electrodes.The accumulated electrons on the anode form a conductive layer which increases the capacitance of the capacitor. This layer is also known as the “depletion layer”. This layer tends to become thicker as the amount of voltage applied across the electrodes increases. This property of the tantalum capacitor makes it useful for a wide variety of applications because it can withstand higher voltages.The capacitance of tantalum capacitors depends on several factors such as the thickness of the oxide layer, temperature, and operating voltage. They are also known for their high-frequency performance, low leakage current, and excellent temperature stability. Furthermore, the high capacitance of tantalum capacitors also makes them suitable for applications that require higher capacitance values.Overall, the TACR335M010R is a popularly used tantalum capacitor with wide application in various power electronic applications due to its capability to sustain higher voltages.
