Tantalum Capacitors

The TAP336K020SRW is a 2.2mm thick Through-Hole Surface Mount General Purpose Tantalum Capacitor. It uses solid tantalum for its anode, an anodic oxide of tantalum for its dielectric, and an electrolyte gel for its cathode. It is encapsulated in an epoxy/glass housing. This type of capacitor has an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, a capacitance range of 1μF to 4.7μF, and a voltage range of 6.3V to 35V.

The TAP336K020SRW is designed to be used in general purpose protection and power supply circuits. It provides efficient filtering of short duration high frequency noise originated by fast switching devices connected to the power supply, and it acts as a bypass capacitor in high frequency circuits. In addition, it is used to protect components from spikes, and it can be used in energy storage applications.

The TAP336K020SRW capacitor has a dielectric constant of 1, meaning that its capacitance is a linear charge-voltage relationship. It is polarized, meaning current flow is only possible in one direction.
