The output of the error amplifier is used to control the base current of the series pass transistor, thus controlling the output voltage.
The TC1017-2.9VLTTR is designed to draw a quiescent current of only 9.5 mA from an input voltage range of 2.6V to 12V and the drop-out voltage is less than 2.9V. It has a very low noise output at 225uVrms, on-chip reverse battery protection, short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown. It also features a high output current of up to 1.2A and an adjustable current limit. The output voltage accuracy is ±1%. The TC1017-2.9VLTTR is available in SOT23-5, TO-220 and SO-8 packages and is ideal for battery-powered mobile, medical and industrial applications.
