The TC1411EUA713 is a high performance gate driver for driving N-channel, P-channel and complementary MOSFETs in automotive, industrial and consumer applications. It is available in several packages, such as SOIC, Peak Surface Mount SSOP, HiTPAK and more, allowing for high efficiency and power density.Application Field
The TC1411EUA713 gate driver is suitable for automotive, industrial, and consumer power applications including high power DC-DC converters, inverters, motor drives, solid-state relays, and lighting applications. The TC1411EUA713 is designed to deliver a high-speed turn-on and turn-off of MOSFETs and IGBTs with a wide range of gate resistances. The auto discharge feature can save additional power by eliminating the need for an additional external gate resistor, and provides a wider usable gate driver input range. It is also suitable for driving N-channel, P-channel and complementary MOSFETs with high efficiency as it features a peak output current of 1.5A.Working Principle
The TC1411EUA713 gate driver consists of two major components – a programmable regenerative amplifier and an isolated P-channel MOSFET driver. The regenerative amplifier takes a signal or control voltage at its input, amplifies the signal, and drives the P-channel MOSFET driver with the amplified signal. The P-channel MOSFET driver then drives the MOSFETs/IGBTs with the amplified signal from the regenerative amplifier, providing a high speed turn-on/turn-off and a wide input signal range. The auto discharge feature is also provided, with the internal MOSFET discharging the gates of the MOSFET/IGBTs when the Gate Driver is not in use, resulting in a faster and more reliable turn-off if the MOSFETs/IGBTs and their gate capacitance. This helps to achieve a very high speed and a high efficiency with a lower gate driving voltage requirement compared to the other gate drivers.The TC1411EUA713 also offers wide operating temperature range, up to 175°C junction temperature and integrated EMI filter options to reduce EMI emission and improve efficiency. The device incorporates short-circuit protection, as well as over-current and over-temperature protection features to ensure long term reliability in application.In conclusion, the TC1411EUA713 is a high performance gate driver suitable for a wide range of automotive, industrial and consumer applications.
