The TC426IJA is a high speed, low power, and advanced Gate Driver from Texas Instruments with advanced features and capabilities to support increased operating frequencies, switching efficiency and improved error management, while minimizing system power loss. The device is suitable for a broad range of power switches, including advanced insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs), MOSFETs, and mixed-signal application such as thyristors, photovoltaics, and motor control. This Gate Driver uses a high-side and low-side MOSFET driver to provide a reliable and consistent drive.Application Fields

Working Principle
The TC426IJA employs a differential drive input technique to provide a highly reliable and consistent drive signal. The device provides a low impedance gate drive for both high-side and low-side power switches, protecting them from switching noise, over-current, and overtemperature damage. The device also provides a logic-level signal for gate triggering with minimum gate-turn-off voltage (VGT).The device comprises two logic-level gate drivers (LT and ST) and two high-side gate drivers (MT and HT). The LT and ST drivers provide a low-side gate drive, while the MT and HT drivers provide a high-side drive voltage. The LT and ST drivers are driven by the logic-level inputs, which tell the device when to turn on or off the power switches. The MT and HT drivers provide a constant supply of gate drive voltage to the switches.The device also features overvoltage/overtemperature protection with pre-configured thresholds to protect devices from faulty switching.
