Working Principle

The TC4432EJA features a PNP power MOSFET gate driver. The device drives an N-channel MOSFET switch by providing a regulated positive gate drive voltage (VHO) to pull the gate voltage of the MOSFET above its VTH threshold voltage. The regulated VHO is provided by an integrated linear voltage regulator, which is fed by a built-in 5V charge pump.When a logic input signal is applied, the TC4432EJA will provide the logic-inversion of the input voltage to the gate of the MOSFET. The device is equipped with a Disable pin if the logic input signal is not available. If the Disable pin is not used, it should be connected to ground.Once the gate voltage of the MOSFET reaches its VTH threshold voltage, a stable currect flow (Id) is established from Drain to Source. When the logic input voltage is removed, the device will invert the logic voltage again, causing the gate voltage of the MOSFET to fall. This reduces the current flow until the MOSFET is commpletely shut-off.The TC4432EJA also has a built-in reverse-Polarity Protection (RPP) circuit that prevents the applications from being damaged in the event of reverse polarity of the power supply voltage.
