They provide a range of features, such as overtemperature protection, overvoltage protection, short-circuit protection, load detection, and so on. TheTC54VC1402ECB713 is a PMIC - Supervisors device manufactured by Tokyo-based Toshiba. Its application field and working principle is described in this article.

The TC54VC1402ECB713 is a 3.3 Volt System Reset Supervisor. It is designed to monitor the power supply in electronic systems and to provide power-up reset for microcontrollers and other control logic. The device provides reset assertion if the power supply drops below a predefined threshold, which is programmable using a single resistor. The voltage reference determines when reset is asserted and when reset is deasserted.

The device also supports a Manual Reset feature and can reset devices with an open drain reset pin. In addition, the reset can be asserted on power up and deasserted after a power good delay that is selectable by a resistor. The overvoltage protection feature helps protect electronic systems from input voltage surges. It monitors the input voltage on its Overvoltage Pin and pulls the output low when the input voltage exceeds a certain threshold which is programmable using a resistor. The device can also be used as an external watchdog timer to monitor the device’s microcontroller. If the controller stops running or crashes, the reset output pin is driven low.
