TCP100A is a type of transducer that measures pressure. It consists of a pressure-sensing element made up of two diaphragms and a measuring element. It is a rugged industrial transducer, designed for long-term operations under harsh environment and for a wide variety of applications. Application Field
The TCP100A transducer is mainly used for measurement and control of pressure in industrial plants, including measuring and controlling air pressure, liquid level, flow, speed, acceleration/deceleration and vacuum. This transducer can work with water, air, oil gas, and other fluids, and the measurement range includes rapidly varying, non-linear, or changing pressures. It is suitable for the measurement and control of temperatures in the range of 0-50°C. In addition, TCP100A is also used as the measuring element in manometers and transducers.
Working Principle
The working principle of TCP100A is based on the human body’s sense of barometer. The transducer is composed of two diaphragms with different diameters, and a measuring element in the middle. One diaphragm is connected with the outside pressure atmosphere, while the other is connected with the inside pressure atmosphere or the pressure supply system. When there is any change in the pressure of either diaphragm, the combination of its differential pressure and the static pressure will cause the measuring element to become deformed, thereby affecting the electrical signal output of the transducer.
When the pressure of the outside atmosphere is higher than the inside pressure, the larger diaphragm will expand and the smaller one will contract. This differential pressure between the two diaphragms will cause the measuring element to be slightly deformed. This deformation of the measuring element will cause electric signals to change and the corresponding detection output signal will be generated.
In case the pressure of the outside atmosphere is lower than the inside pressure, the larger diaphragm will contract and the smaller one will expand.Again the differential pressure between the two diaphragms will cause the measuring element to be slightly deformed, thereby resulting in an output signal. The transmission of the signal is direct and reliable. The electrical signal is proportional to the pressure change and can be used for measuring and controlling pressure.
The diaphragm and the measuring element together form the source of the transducer’s output signal. The signal is then amplified to the required voltage level and converted to a digital or analog output signal according to the user’s needs. This output signal is then sent to the control panel for display and command.
The TCP100A transducer has a lot of features such as wide range of accuracy, low hysteresis, high immunity to vibration, high temperature stability and pressure holding capacity. Its rugged design ensures reliable operation in harsh environments and makes it suitable for field measurements. The transducer is also sealed against the external atmosphere, which prevents dust and moisture form entering the system and affecting its performance.
