RF Receivers - TDA5201T application field and working principle
The TDA5201T is a Broadband RF Receiver featuring high sensitivities and superior signal-to-noise characteristics up to 200MHz. It is designed for use in a wide range of applications such as automotive and consumer electronics. This receiver is made with a low-noise amplifier (LNA) and a tracking unique mixer. The LNA has a wide frequency range and provides HF/RF filtering. Working Principle

The input signal passes through the LNA and is then mixed with the signal from the LO at the mixer. As a result of the mixing process, two output signals are generated, one at the sum frequency (input + LO) and the other at the difference frequency (input – LO). The LNA provides gain over a wide frequency range with low noise figure and wide dynamic range. The mixer can be in either in single-ended or dual-ended mode. In dual-ended mode, it provides improved gain flatness and better image rejection, but consumes more power.
The TDA5201T supports both single-ended and dual-ended operation, and is compatible with multiple modulation formats including Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), Frequency Shift Keying (FSK), and Phase Modulation (PM). It is capable of blind frequency-hopping, which reduces the likelihood of unwanted interference from other systems operating in the vicinity.
