DC DC converters are electronic devices that change the voltage of direct current from one level to another. They are ideal for applications in which the main source of power is an unregulated DC voltage at one level and regulated DC output at a different level is desired. TDR 2-2411SM is a regulated DC to DC converter, usually deployed in distributed power architectures. It offers high efficiency and small size, converting a wide range of input voltage from 200V to 800V DC (750V typical) to a regulated 24V to 110V DC output.

The TDR 2-2411SM features a synchronous buck topology with a high frequency pulse width modulation (PWM) switch mode. It designed to provide a regulated 24V to 110V DC output while achieving high efficiency and protection against overloads, overvoltage and overtemperature. The TDR2-2411SM utilizes a combination of peak current resistive mode for high light-load efficiency and low on-resistance MOSFET switches for high efficiency at heavy loads. This results in excellent efficiency, very low noise, and low power dissipation.

Its adjustable output voltage is enabled by feedback control. This ensures accuracy with a ±2% voltage deviation at light load condition. The TDR 2-2411SM device features a single voltage output option. Output voltage adjustment is limited to approximately +/- 10% of nominal voltage. The output of this converter is isolated from the input and the power ground, which enhances safe operation and enables robust designs by preventing ground loop currents.

The TDR 2-2411SM features two different operating modes: continuous conduction mode (CCM) and discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). CCM is a condition in which the output current is forced to stay continuous under all operating conditions, allowing the output voltage to track the load. DCM is a condition in which the output current is allowed to become discontinuous when the output voltage drops below the preset threshold. This mode is beneficial in reducing ripple and switching losses.

The TDR 2-2411SM employs a variety of protection features, including over-current, over-temperature, over-voltage, and under-voltage protection. It also includes a remote enable feature to enable or disable the output voltage.
