TEA1723DT/N1,118 is a high frequency offline AC/DC converter, which belongs to PMIC - AC DC Converters, Offline Switchers. It is especially suitable for usage in a medium power adapter-type application powering from a 220V AC network. Thanks to the presence of a leading-edge control curves, it successfully ensures high efficiency and low radio-frequency noise. The core of the circuit consists of a clocked oscillator, an opto-coupler and the power circuit with primary and secondary windings to provide galvanic isolation from the network. The main features of TEA1723DT/N1,118 are the Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), the Burst Mode Operation (BMO), the internal slope compensation and the fixed peak current limiting. Furthermore, the wide loop bandwidth, the very low EMI levels, the high accuracy current limit, as well as the integrated Over Temperature Protection and the primary-side sensing circuit make it an ideal choice for a cost-effective AC/DC converter. The main part of TEA1723DT/N1,118 is the Clocked Oscillator, it controls the current that flows in the primary side of the converter, at the same time it ensures a constant frequency. The oscillator is triggered by the voltage across the primary winding. The frequency of oscillations is determined by the resistor-capacitor combination on pin4 of the IC.
