TEA18361LT/1J is a Flyback converter with integrated high side switch in TO-220 package. This device is a member of the TEA1836X family of a synchronous rectification flyback converters with integrated high and low side switches. It is a highly integrated monolithic AC DC Offline power converter designed to provide output power up to a maximum of 10 W. It has two different operation modes - continuous current mode and discontinuous current mode.The main feature of this device is its ability to automatically switch modes during operation depending on the load condition so as to maximize efficiency. In continuous current mode, the primary inductor current doesn’t fall below the minimum current level set by the current sense signal. In discontinuous current mode, the primary inductor current goes to zero after being reset due to the current sense signal.In addition to these features, the TEA18361LT/1J offers an Disable function that allows for external control of the device operation. This allows for the device to be disabled in case of a fault or under-voltage protection. This feature also allows for the device to be activated when external control is required. The device also offers a power saving mode that reduces the output power when the load condition is light.The TEA18361LT/1J operates on input voltages ranging from 9V to 16V and can operate at an output voltage of 0.8V - 5V. The device is equipped with an over-voltage protection, an over-temperature protection and a soft-start feature which prevents or reduces any over-currents during startup. The device has a maximum power efficiency of 70%.The device has a high-side switch which is used to control the amount of energy transferred to the output. The high-side switch is controlled by a signal from the Control Logic block at the device\'s output by a PWM signal. The PWM signal is used to control the on-time and off-time of the high-side switch. The Control Logic block also contains a signal for over-current protection.The TEA18361LT/1J is ideal for use in AC DC Offline power converters and it is suitable for a variety of applications such as LED lighting, power supplies, battery chargers and industrial systems.
