DC DC Converters
DC-DC converters, also known as buck or boost converters, convert a DC input voltage to a different DC output voltage level. TES 2-2411M is a DC-DC Converter widely used in various industries for its versatility and reliability. It features a wide input voltage range (7.5 V – 75 V DC), an output voltage adjustable range (0.8 V – 6.0 V DC), high efficiency (up to 89%), and various protections including overcurrent, overvoltage, and overtemperature. Firstly, the input voltage is rectified and filtered to smoothen the somewhat noisy output voltage. The energy is then transferred to the inductor, which stores energy in the magnetic field. The switching transistor is then used to switch the current flowing through the inductor. A diode is used to prevent backward current flow when the inductor is not charged. Finally, the output voltage is kept constant by the self-oscillating feedback system.The converting process is known as a “buck-boost” technology, because it facilitates going up or down depending on the input and output voltage levels. This enables it to reduce the voltage (or buck), or increase the voltage (or boost).
