Thyristors (also known as silicon-controlled rectifiers or semiconductor-controlled rectifiers) are a class of semiconductor devices with four alternating layers of semiconductor material. They have three terminals and are controlled by a gate, making them ideal for use in non-linear digital circuits, power control and digital circuit control. The TISP4240M3LM thyristor is a high power, low-inductance, positive temperature coefficient triac that is available in TO-220 packages.
