TL1454ACN is a charge pump DC to DC converter IC specifically designed to manufacture physically small, low-voltage supplies with up to 8.2V of output voltage. It is constructed as a cost-effective, switched capacitor voltage converter solution that can be used to convert a wide range of DC input voltages to output voltages as low as 2.5V. It is usually used as an adjustable voltage regulator and plays an important role in a wide variety of power management applications.The TL1454ACN is basically a current-mode, flyback topology DC to DC switching controller. The principle of operation of the TL1454ACN is based on the switched capacitor. The TL1454ACN contains three basic components: the input capacitor, the switching transistor, and the output capacitor. This circuit uses a linear feedback loop to safely charge and discharge the input and output capacitors. When the control voltage is lower than 0.6V, the N-MOS transistor M1 opens, and the charge pump output voltage is regulated by the output voltage. When the control voltage is higher than 0.6V, M1 will be cut off and the charge pump will be shut off. If the output current is high, the output voltage will be automatically adjusted by the feedback loop, and the voltage drop will be compensated.
