Working Principle

TL431CDT Voltage Reference chips utilize a three-terminal adjustable regulator design. The inputs of the TL431CDT are labeled as Adjust (A), Cathode (K) and Anode (A). The Adjust terminal is connected to a potentiometer, and the output voltage is determined by the setting of the potentiometer. The Cathode and Anode terminals serve as a the input voltage source, and the output voltage is determined by the difference between the potential at the Cathode and Anode terminals.The TL431CDT Voltage Reference chip employs a control circuit to adjust the output voltage based on the feedback voltage and the setting of the potentiometer.
