The TL7700CPWR is a voltage supervisory IC consisting of two temperature-compensated voltage detectors with complementary outputs and a low-power CMOS reset generator. TL7700CPWR Working Principle

The TL7700CPWR features two temperature-compensated voltage detectors, each consisting of a voltage reference and comparator. The voltage reference is a band-gap reference which provides a stable, accurate reference output over temperature. The comparator compares the reference output to an adjustable voltage determined by an external resistor, and provides a logic output if the monitored voltage exceeds the set reset threshold.

The outputs of each of the voltage detectors is fed into an XOR gate, the output of which is the reset signal. When either or both of the voltage detectors are in the active state, the XOR gate presents a logic low output to the reset generator. The reset generator uses charge-pump technology to generate a reset pulse with a duration of at least 10 ms.

The reset generator then draws a charge from a supply capacitor and from a reference voltage capacitor. When the voltage on the supply and reference capacitors drops below a certain level, an inversion circuit is triggered, which drives the reset output high. This high pulse is maintained until the reset input is set low, at which point the reset generator begins the reset cycle again.
