The P-channel MOSFET acts as a switch to control the regulated output voltage and the bipolar transistor acts as a current sensing device. The transistor acts like a short circuit and by passing the voltage pulses to the P-channel MOSFET which act as a switch. This switch further adjusts the output voltage keeping it at a safe level. This voltage regulation helps to maintain the desired current level when the output load changes. Overall, the TL780-15KCS is an efficient and reliable linear voltage regulator which is accurate, easy to operate and cost efficient.
