Working Principle

The TLC2272ACPWR is a low power operational amplifier, which uses the operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) architecture. An amplifier is implemented into a special type of transistor known as a bipolar junction transistor (BJT). Basically, a BJT consists of three components: the collector, the base and the emitter. When the base is forward-biased, it allows a current to flow between the collector and emitter. The current between the collector and emitter is called the collector current. In the case of the TLC2272ACPWR, the base is connected to a resistor and the collector to an input signal, and the output is taken from the emitter. The output is proportional to the input, with the gain being determined by the resistor and transistor characteristics.
