TLC27L9CNSG4 is a precision unity-gain stable instrumentation amplifier from Texas Instruments that offers high accuracy and low bias current. It is an all-in-one analog circuit packaged into a single, 8-pin Dual In-Line (DIP) package, which makes it ideal for use in measurement and post-processing applications.

TLC27L9CNSG4 is designed to function as an adjustable-gain instrumentation amplifier, capable of amplifying small signals from sources such as thermocouples, load cells, strain gauges and other low-level signals up to the full-scale range of the amplifier. It provides an adjustable gain range from 0 dB to 45 dB, enabling an effective increase in signal-to-noise ratio output. TLC27L9CNSG4\'s working principle involves an adjustable gain instrumentation amplifier, which measures a differential input signal (Vin) and amplifies the signal with a gain of unity or more. The operational amplifier is the key component of the amplifier. It consists of four cascaded stages - two linear amps, a summing amplifier and an adjustable differential amplifier. First, two identical linear amplifiers consisting of transistors or operational amplifiers amplify the differential signal. The outputs of the two linear amplifiers are then “summed up” using a summing amplifier; the output of this stage is the amplified differential signal. Finally, an adjustable differential amplifier is used to adjust the gain of the amplifier. The gain is determined by the ratio between the resistors R1 and R2. The output of the adjustable differential amplifier is the amplified differential signal (Vout) with the gain set by R1/R2.
