The TLC3704CN fixed-gain zero-crossing comparator is a monolithic integrated circuit designed to provide zero-crossing detection and transistor drive of one power transistor in switching power supplies and automotive applications. It performs two key functions: zero-crossing detection, which cuts output power to the load when the power supply is suddenly powered off or its current is interrupted; and driving the output power transistor to provide the desired level of currents and respond to changes in the power supply. As a linear-comparator, the TLC3704CN is ideal for monitoring and protecting input power supplies, enabling system designers to provide robust design solutions in almost any application where there is a need to control and monitor the input power.
