The TLC7524CN is a CMOS 8-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC). It is available in 8-pin DIP and 8-pin Cerdip packages (24-lead plastic DIP and 14-pin plastic DIP). It is also offered in industrial temperature range from -20°C to +85°C.
The device accepts 8-bit serial data from a wide variety of microprocessors and controllers. The Data enable (DEn) input allows the device to accept 8-bits from a serial input during one DEn active period. Its 4-quadrant BCD input code provides an output voltage of 0 V for code 0000, 2.5 V for code 0111, and 4.096 V for code 1111. The chip also has an asynchronous reset/DAC latch clear (RSn/DLC) input which will reset the outputs to 0 V. It allows the digital command to determine the analog output by selecting the command weight.
The main application field of TLC7524CN is digital signal processing and control applications. It can be used in signal generation, signal conditioning, signal smoothing, digital filtering, gain compensation and signal-to-noise ratio improvement. It is suitable for measurement, data acquisition, and process control applications.

The device accepts an 8-bit parallel data input and produces an output voltage corresponding to the input code. The device can accept 16 bits of serial data following the DEn active period.
