Working Principle

The TLE9832QXXUMA2 motor controller, through a fast digital signal processor (DSP) core, provides advanced motion control, motor protection, fast current control, and fault handling for high-precision servomotor applications. The DSP core functions include:

• Position velocity and current control modes.
• Transient torque control.
• Dynamic current control.
• Field-oriented control.
• V/Hz control.
• Rotational speed control.

The integrated 3-phase motor control algorithm supports all the core functionalities, including motor protection functions, such as Motor Thermal Dynamics, Lock, Overcurrent, Stall and Rotor Position Estimation.

In addition, the integrated motor protection algorithms work in parallel with the motor control algorithm for continuous operation, providing real-time protection of the motor in emergency situations, as well as warning flags for possible motor and motion-related problems.

Communications & Safety Features

The TLE9832QXXUMA2 integrates safety features, including the communications interface that enables the user to remotely monitor and control the motor. The integrated universal parallel communications interface supports most of the industry-standard machine communication protocols, including CANbus, EtherCAT®, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Powernet, and various others.

The safety features provide added levels of safety and protection in the form of power source monitoring, power faults, overcurrent detection, electrical shorts, overcurrent lockouts and stall detection.
