TLP2261 is an optoisolator in the Logic Output(LO) function group in the Optoisolators family of products. It is a 6-pin transfer mold type optocoupler that can be used as an interface between digital circuit and analog circuit low frequency signal. The optocoupler consists of aGaAs infrared LED optically coupled to a phototransistor.

LO optocouplers are mostly used to couple digital and analog circuits. TLP2261 optocoupler is well-suited for low frequency (LF4) signal transmission between control (~10kHz) and logic (~4MHz) circuits. It can prevent the transmitted LF4 signal from noise interference and also attenuate ground loops.

The application field of TLP2261 can be divided into two areas: industrial fieldand civilian field. In the industrial field, this optocoupler can be used to create circuits with high isolation; with it, transmission of audio signal, low-power AC signal and low-frequency signal can be achieved between control circuits. In the civilian field, theTPL2261 optocoupler can be used in car navigation apparatus, smart householdapparatus, frequency converters and other household electronic appliances.

The working principle of TLP2261 is explained by its internal circuit diagram. This optocoupler has two scenarios, normal and inverse. In the normal output, when the LED is on, meaning it is electrically conducting current, it will emit infrared light and trigger the phototransistor to turn on, making it conduct current as well. This sets up the working principle of the normal output TLP2261. In the inverse output, when the phototransistor is on, that, meaning it has already conducted current, its conductionwill further activate the infrared LED to conduct.

The TLP2261 can provide isolation voltage up to 3750Vrms and a CTR range of 10% to 500%. Its insulation resistance is rated up to 100MΩ minimum at 500VDC and can withstand temperature up to 100°C. In scenarios such as electrical noise prevention, voltage fluctuation protection and ground loop elimination, this optocoupler can be utilized to ensure that the signal to be transmitted is secure and reliable.
