The TLP3073 is designed primarily as an Optoisolators - Triac, SCR output device. Designed using Toshiba\'s precision silicon-gate CMOS process technology, this component provides high isolation voltage, high speed, and wide operating temperature range. It is suitable for various applications ranging from communications to industrial control.
The TLP3073 is a photo-coupler consisting of an infrared LED on the input side and a photo-triac and a photodiode on the output side. The photo-coupler has a max CTR of 500% at a forward current of 20mA and a max. reverse current of 5mA. The Isolation voltage between input-output is rated up to 2500VAC. It has an operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C with an insulation resistance of more than one hundred Megaohm.
The TLP3073 features low input current requirements, and low power consumption. It also has low leakage current in both atmospheric and vacuum conditions, and can be used in high noise conditions. The TLP3073 is available in a range of package sizes including 8, 16, and 18-pin PDIP, 20-pin DIP, and 6-pin SO. It is also available as a surface mount device with 8 and 16-pin SSOP packages.
The TLP3073 can be used for a variety of applications such as AC motor control, switching power supplies, vending machines, lighting control, air-conditioner control, and electrical appliance control, due to the high switching speed and high isolation voltage offered by the device. In AC motor control, the TLP3073 is used to switch the motor on and off quickly using a single-phase triac. In switching power supplies, the device is used to drive the switching transistors in a power supply, allowing the power supply to turn on and off quickly.
In addition, the device is used in vending machines to control the power to the product at the right time. In lighting control, the device is used to turn lamps or lights on and off. It can also be used in air conditioners to control the power to the fan, compressor, and heater, as well as in electrical appliances for controlling power to various parts.
In operation, the TLP3073 isolates the switching element of the output circuit from the input. The input to the photo-coupler consists of an LED which is turned on by a signal applied to the base. When the LED is turned on, it emits light which is detected by a photosensitive device. This switches on the switch device on the output side. When the LED is turned off, the switch device on the output side is also turned off.
The TLP3073 offers a wide range of features including low power consumption, fast switching time, high isolation voltage, high noise immunity, and small package size.
