Data acquisition is the process of collecting data from the surrounding environment. This data can take many forms, ranging from images and sounds to temperature and acceleration. Sound and images are usually collected as digital data, meaning that the environment must first be monitored using sensors and the data then acquired, converted, and stored using a data acquisition system. To convert analog signals into digital data, an Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) is used. An ADC converts an analog signal into a digital value proportional to its magnitude. TLV1571IDWG4 is a type of ADC whose application field includes temperature and humidity sensing, traffic control, alarm, security, and access control systems, cleanrooms, and semiconductor fabrication where volatile organic compounds, contaminants, and other parameters required to monitor production processes. Additionally, it displays high accuracy and excellent repeatability, making it attractive for industrial application.

The TLV1571IDWG4 consists of a 4-channel integrated A/D converter, 600 V isolation, 16-bit resolution, 8 ms sample rate, and an integrated digital isolation. Each channel has a programmable single-ended output range that is a subset of the input range. The outputs of the ADC can be used to control external digital circuits, including the calibration and data storage components of the application.

The TLV1571IDWG4 allows simultaneous sampling of up to 4 single ended signal sources. The A/D converter uses successive approximation register (SAR) based architecture to ensure good accuracy and performance. The on-chip signal conditioning circuitry can provide de-glitching and noise filtering, making it suitable for use in noisy applications where the signals are susceptible to interference. The A/D converter has a linearity error specification of 0.1%, settling time specification range of 270 ns, and output update time specification range of 200 ns.
