TLV3404CD\'s Working Principle

TLV3404CD, as mentioned before is a linear comparator. In other words, it monitors and compares the analog voltages by its input/output pins and generates logic levels at the output.

It has two pins for input, namely, -Vin and +Vin which means Negative V in and Positive V in respectively. These two pins takes input analog voltages and the TLV3404CD works on those to generate high and low logic levels at the output pin based on the comparison of incoming analog voltages

The output pin produces logic high in two cases i.e. when the -Vin is lower than +Vin and -Vin crosses +Vin by a particular voltage level. On the other hand, the output pin gives logic low when the +Vin is lower than -Vin and +Vin crosses -Vin by a particular voltage level.

For instance, considering +Vin as 10V and -Vin as 5V, the output will be logic high when the -Vin increases to 10V while +Vin remains constant. Similarly, it will go to logic low when +Vin decreases to 5V while -Vin remains constant.
