TLV62084EVM-828 is a wide input voltage range, high-frequency, low quiescent current synchronous buck converter reference design. It consists of an integrated warm start circuit, a full protection feature set including overvoltage and input undervoltage system monitors, soft-start circuitry, and basic programming capability to control the output voltage, enabling rapid evaluation of TLV62084-Q1, a tiny 3-A, high-frequency, low quiescent current synchronous buck converter. Furthermore, the reference circuit has configurable user-selectable power modes, allowing evaluation of various operation scenarios.This evaluation module offers an easy-to-use platform for engineers to evaluate the TLV62084-Q1 device in various output voltage and power modes. The board is a 1-channel buck converter with an input voltage range of 4.9 V to 28.5 V, and an output voltage range of 0.9 V to 19 V. The high performance design of the TLV62084-Q1 minimizes the external components required by the circuit, providing a compact, cost effective solution that can be adapted to many applications including mobile power, computing, portable instruments, data communications, automotive and industrial power management applications. The TLV62084EVM-828 operates in several different power modes including Programmable Interface (PFI), Pulse Frequency Multiplier (PFM), and Non-Synchronous Burst Mode (NSBM), which can be selected through jumpers on the board. Additionally, TLV62084-Q1 features an integrated warm start circuit, a full protection feature set including overvoltage and input undervoltage system monitors, as well as soft-start circuitry, and basic programming capability to control the output voltage. The TLV62084EVM-828 is designed to operate over a wide range of input voltage (4.9 V to 28.5 V) and output voltage (0.9 V to 19 V) range with 5-V or 3.3-V logic control, while retaining the high output current of up to 3 A. The input and output of the device is available via three input and 5 output terminals and software to program the output voltage can be easily downloaded from the Texas Instruments website. The evaluation module also includes a graphical user interface (GUI) that provides an intuitive method of modifying the output voltage of the converter and offers visual feedback regarding the current operating conditions of the device.
